This is the journal of Lexius Henson Sr., one of the richest mulatto men in the Pre and Post-Civil War South. The son of a doctor from South Carolina, Lexius was a free man, often referred to as a "white man by day and a black man by night." He owned and operated one of the finest restaurants/saloons in the South, a three-story exquisite experience, serving the finest food, cigars, wine, ales and liquor.
Lexius's clientele consisted of great generals of the Civil War and statesmen from all regions and abroad, some of the richest men in the world, bankers, steel and oil moguls, whose descendants are still of the wealthiest class in modern society. Many of the South's secrets and worldly knowledge were divulged while under the influence of Lexius's intoxicating beverages and delicacies. These great men sought Lexius's advice for his infinite wisdom and Lexius changed the thoughts of many men to benefit all mankind.

- Cousin Craig Rush as a Self Pro-Claimed Family Genealogist and a grand daughter who research revealed a grandfather who was a mulatto and could pass for a white man. I must say superb, splendid, wonderful, extraordinary and marvelous work on your book NO TIME TO HATE. I can only imagine the long and time consuming research and interviews that went into it, day after day and night after night breathing this masterpiece into existence. This book conveys history, humanity, success, exquisite taste, respect, love, poetry, greed, abandonment, rejection, death, life, faith, spirituality, identity of one self, family and a nation ALL-IN-ONE. Lexius Henson Sr. your great, great grandfather was a man born before his time, a poet at heart, a man of many words with an entrepreneurial spirit. I can perceive by your Giftedness that the same spirit was handed down to you by your great, great grandfather to his great, great grandson. His legacy was not of silver, gold, or precious stones, or even houses or land, but of love and peace. In the words of Lexius Henson Sr. I once read in the Good Book that" Each of us will receive whatever he deserves for the good or bad things he has done in his earthly body."
